Parenting is a strange thing. It’s almost as if you occasionally have an out of body experiences as you try to figure out your flow and manage the insanity of it all. Recently, I wrote for Twiniversity about how I went from a robot to a momma bear, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
My latest post for Twiniversity is live, and let me just say, I'm still a work in progress. But lately, as schedules tighten and stress builds, I find myself saying no more frequently so I can road trip to the Midwest for a couple of weeks, or take the girls to the ocean.
While I'll always be learning how to build better boundaries, here are three reasons why I'm trying.
You guys. Parenthood is the real deal. It's life changing and frustrating and makes me feel selfish but sometimes I just want to sit in the bath for 5 minutes with my phone and hope that no one touches me. Is that too much to ask?
Even so, I would give that dream up if someone would just feed my tots. Seriously. You feed them and they can continue to wipe peanut butter all over the only pair of clean pants I have. I don't care - I just don't want to endure the dreaded mealtime four times a day.
Curious as to why? You can read my latest article in Twiniversity here.
Okay don't laugh. But I wrote a post for Twiniversity on teaching toddlers to learn self-control. No these are not my ideas, they are from the brilliant team of therapists that help our little E, but I can say they work.
In fact, just yesterday I was on the brink of tears trying to get the girls to listen and I started whispering, as suggested in the blog post, AND IT WORKED. Not joking. If it worked for me, it will work for you.

Who knew chores could be so much fun? But really, my toddlers LOVE chores, aka responsibilities. Click here to read my latest article for Twiniversity and learn how you too can have a break from the madness that is twin toddlers.
